Mother’s Day is this Sunday, so we thought we’d share some simple but lovely things you can do for your mum.
A Portrait – find a lovely frame and print off a family portrait as a nice, last minute gift.
Something handmade – make it extra special by making something yourself. It could be a throw cushion, crocheted coaster or anything else you can think of.
Something delicious – from breakfast in bed to a home cooked meal or her favourite cake, make mum one of her favourite things to eat.
Spend time with her – you could go out and see a movie, take a walk or go for a drive, or you could stay in and spend the day fussing over her.
A handwritten note – you could list what you love about her or reminisce about a shared memory. It’s perfect if you live away and there’s still time to send one today! (Although your mum will be thrilled even if it’s a tad late)
A phone or Skype call – if you live away or can’t be there for the day, make sure your mum knows you’re thinking of her by giving her a call.
A bouquet of flowers – this might seem clichéd but flowers, particularly as it gets colder, are a wonderful way to bring brightness and joy into the house and make a perfect gift. Choose a bouquet of her favourite flower or colour, or buy her a flowering plant she can keep all year round.
A mother’s day gift doesn’t need to be expensive or elaborate, whatever you do to say thank you for all her love and support will delight your mum.
Do you any have simple, last-minute ideas that will make mum’s day?
